JOB SUMMARY
As a Pressure Sensors Mechanical Engineer you are responsible for designing, developing, and testing pressure sensor systems for submersible liquid level applications , focusing on the physical design of the sensor components, ensuring their functionality, accuracy, and compatibility with the overall system, collaborating with electrical and firmware engineers to integrate the sensor signals into broader sensor system. You will deliver robust, cost effective designs from conception to production
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field. Master’s degree is preferred.
10 years of experience designing with pressure sensors
Deep understanding of pressure sensor element design and application
Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, including stress analysis, fluid mechanics, and material properties
Experience with CAD software (SolidWorks) for 3D modeling, design and simulation
Knowledge of pressure sensor technologies (piezoelectric, strain gauge, differential pressure)
Experience with submersible pressure sensors
Familiarity with data acquisition systems and signal processing techniques
Proficiency in engineering analysis tools (FMEA, FEA, CFD, DFM)
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
Technical leadership
Strong communication skills and ability to communicate to company leadership
PREFERRED
10 years of sensor design and development experience
Familiarity with signal processing techniques and tools such as MATLAB and LABVIEW
Electronic design experience
Experience in Industrial, Construction or Transportation industries
Experience with High Volume Design for Manufacturability
Experience in APQP product development processes

RESPONSIBILITIES
Sensor Design :
Conceptualize and design pressure sensor mechanisms, using oil filled pressure buttons, and packaging components for submersible level applications.
Analyze sensor performance parameters like pressure range, accuracy, sensitivity, and response time.
Create 3D CAD models and detailed engineering drawings for sensor components.
Create detailed drawing packages.
Material Selection :
Choose appropriate materials for sensor construction based on pressure ranges, temperature conditions, compatibility with fluids, and desired durability.
Prototype Development :
Build and test prototype pressure sensors in laboratory environments to validate design concepts and performance characteristics.
Calibration and Testing :
Develop with manufacturing engineering temperature and pressure calibration tooling and equipment.
Develop calibration procedures for pressure sensors, ensuring accuracy and repeatability of measurements.
Conduct comprehensive testing on sensor prototypes under various environmental conditions and pressure ranges.
Integration and Interface Design :
Design electrical and mechanical interfaces to connect the pressure sensors to overall sensor systems
Collaborate with electrical engineers to ensure seamless signal conditioning and data processing.
Failure Analysis :
Investigate sensor failures during testing, identifying root causes and implementing design improvements.
Project Management :
Follow the company's APQP development process
Develop and execute project schedules
Prepare technical documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and user manuals
