Our client located in Canton, Ohio is seeking a dedicated and proactive Human Resources Generalist to join their team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting various HR functions, including employee relations, workforce management, recruiting, and payroll in a manufacturing environment. This position requires strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while fostering a positive work environment.
Responsibilities
- Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
- Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
- Performs new hire orientation and onboarding.
- Performs routine tasks required to administer and advise on benefits and leave inquiries; new hire follow-ups; and payroll inquiries.
- Assist with employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
- May attend and participates in employee disciplinary meetings including attendance, conduct or performance violations.
- Assist HR Manager with the execution of core HR processes including talent acquisition and development.
- Timely and accurately review, approve timecards, time off requests and process payroll, including master file maintenance, adjustment calculations, payroll verification, check distribution.
- Preparing and maintaining various human resources records, including employee files, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and confidential information.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Handling and supporting additional projects as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
