Summary of Job |
The Quality Assurance Auditor will be responsible for scheduling and carrying out food safety Audits, to encompass all areas covered by the Safe Quality Food (SQF) code, and ensure compliance; will trend audit results and communicate to leadership, as appropriate, to determine necessary corrective and preventive measures based on audit findings; and coordinate continual improvement initiatives to promote compliance.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities |
- Schedule and carry out routine internal audits to ensure continued plant-wide compliance with SQF certification and customer requirements.
- Trend results of food safety inspections to identify arising and continuing issues.
- Acts as internal verifier of CAPA program and reports effectiveness of implemented corrections.
- Reports and identifies trends or repeated problems of the CAPA program and re-opens investigations when necessary
- Audit the QA staff activities for consistency and compliance to procedures.
- Audits the QA staff pre-op and releasing equipment process to establish consistent standards for release.
- Audits in use documentation daily and completes follow up with corrective actions if applicable.
- Coordinates the follow up and meeting to review GMP results, pending items and trend analysis.
- Document verification and validation reports of CCPs, CQPs, CPs and QPs, including trending analysis and corrective actions.
- Identify opportunities and carry out initiatives for continual improvement of the auditing system.
- Coordinate and carry out mock recalls and corrective actions.
- Provide training for QA Incoming positions, QA Technicians, and QA Leads. Keep and maintain files, reports and training documents up to date.
- Provide reports and trends for quality metrics set by corporate initiatives.
- Conducts audits to the production process to ensure compliance.
- Review of production quality documentation (Statistical Process Control and Inspection Sheets)
- Compliance to good manufacturing practices
- Execute special projects as assigned by QA Supervisor or Manager (e.g. shelf life extension requests).
Qualifications
Education and Qualifications |
- Education: Bachelors of Science in Food Science, Engineering, or related field
- Experience: 1 year in quality, manufacturing, laboratory or auditing required.
- Ability to communicate in both English and Spanish preferred.
Physical Requirements |
- Must be able to sit/stand for extended periods of time, lift upwards of 50 lbs. reach above shoulder height, bend, squat, and kneel. Must be able to conduct sensory evaluations.
