Summary of Job |
This position supervises and helps coordinate production activities, food safety and sanitation programs. The position is responsible for making sure sanitation completes their daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning activities as well as compliance with GMPs, sanitation policies and procedures, SOP training, chemical training, and food safety training
Essential Functions and Responsibilities |
- Participate in the Quality Risk Management Process yearly audit and assist in the development of procedures and corrective actions.
- Provide leadership and training for production personnel to complete production line and facility sanitation as required by the Master Sanitation Schedule- Daily Tasks- Maintenance Work Schedule- and Production Schedule.
- Technical liaison between factory personnel- sanitation chemical supplier- Headquarter Sanitation- plant Quality Assurance- and third party sanitation provider (where applicable).
- Create a safe working environment for personnel working in sanitation- maintain chemical safety procedures and SDSs- work with chemical supplier to provide chemical handling training- provide leadership in enhancing chemical training for plant specific needs as needed in addition to chemical supplier training- and meet all requirements of Mount Franklin Foods Environmental- Health- and Safety program.
- Create a structured- orderly chemical storage and sanitation supply area in the factory.
- Review the effectiveness of the Mount Franklin Foods Sanitation Program on an annual basis for effectiveness and provide continuous improvement for the sanitation program at the factory level.
- Ensure compliance with the Global Cleaning and Sanitation Manual- Pest Control Standard- Hygienic Design Standard- and also support the Building and Fabric Maintenance Standard.
- Manage the Internal Cleaning and Sanitation Audit Program to ensure compliance to the Mount Franklin Foods Sanitation Program and SQF Standard.
- In partnership with corporate Sanitation support and execute cleaning verification and validation programs to prove effectiveness of Sanitation program.
- Partner with business leaders on implementation of process improvement (Six Sigma / Lean/ Mount Franklin Foods Management System (MFFMS)- including leading change initiatives- planning- and facilitation.
- Manage and evaluate the Sanitation staff including but not limited to performance management and employee development- etc.
- Support and manage the departments operating budget.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education and Qualifications |
- Bachelors degree in chemistry, food science or similar fields or 5 years experience in similar position
- A minimum of 5 years related work experience required. Experience and knowledge in food sanitation operations, procedures, chemicals, and program standards, preferably in a general food or manufacturing industry.
- An understanding of Allergens, pathogens, and other food contaminants (preferred)
- SQF knowledge (preferred)
- PCQI Certified (preferred)
