Corporate Settlement Solutions is a dynamic, forward-thinking provider of real estate settlement services to lenders, realtors, buyers, and sellers across multiple states. We are recruiting for a Closing Support Specialist in our North Olmsted office. This individual will ensure that all relevant information is collected to complete real estate closing forms and related documentation. They are tasked with verification of good funds, submitting wire transfers, and authorizing printing of checks for real estate transactions. This position is in charge of coordination with lenders through various portals/platforms to obtain approval of closing disclosure form. This position will work in a collaborative, team-based environment and will have the opportunity for future growth within the closing team.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Review purchase agreement and research encumbrances to transfer ownership including but not limited to, mortgages, tax liens, contractor liens, tax assessments, and utility assessments.
  • Ensure timely and accurate gathering of all information needed to prepare a HUD/closing disclosure and transfer property.
  • Follow through with post-closing duties including but not limited to, recordation of documents, disbursement of funds, payoff of liens, etc.
  • Actively build trusting relationships with coworkers, customers and business partners to precipitate repeat business and generate referrals for new business.
  • Contribute to the overall success of the office team which may include answering telephones, clerical duties, relationship building with customers, and schedule closings.
  • Prior to funding transactions:
    • Verify that all pre-closing curatives have been take care of
    • Review documentation and perform necessary calculations for payoffs and pro-rations
    • Use problem solving and communication abilities to resolve closing disbursement issues in a timely and accurate manner
    • Check figures and documents for correct entry, mathematical accuracy, and proper coding
  • Disburse funds into correct accounts via wire transfers or printing hard copy checks.
  • Other ad-hoc tasks as assigned by manager.

Education and Experience Required:
  • Basic knowledge of real estate closing transaction documents and processes.
  • Work experience in an office environment using MS Office suite, multi-line telephone, copier/scanner.

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position and frequently operate a computer and other office equipment.
  • Requires the ability to distinguish letters or symbols as well as apply effective hand/eye coordination.
  • May be required to occasionally move about to access file cabinets to lift files and push and pull file cabinet drawers.
  • Must be able to occasionally move and lift office equipment and materials up to 25 pounds.
