Summary: Assists the Regulatory Compliance Specialist in researching, correcting, and maintaining ADC System scale labels by performing the following duties:
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
ADC learning and action (education and research):
• Train with Regulatory Compliance Specialist on HQPM, ADC, FDA/USDA regulations and local network systems.
• Begin research into which items in our scale systems are lacking nutrition information and need to be updated.
• Work through setting up items in HQPM.
• Set up items in scales (ADC) and working through the “send to stores” process.
Organic Content:
• Assist with new item entry, true outs, and updates.
• Assist with label review as needed (with correct training and guidance).
• Participate in discussions of current food safety issues/problems to watch.
• Get familiarized with basic concepts in regards to food labeling and nutrition requirements for products sold in Harris Teeter stores (FDA/USDA regulations).
Department Needs:
• Assist the Regulatory Compliance Specialist with all scale label content.
• Organize the current items within ADC and make sure that all items have nutrition information available for store scales to pull.

Education/Experience:
Minimum enrollment in Food Science/Nutrition/Dietician AS/BS program. or a recent graduate.
Availability:
Must be available for full-time hours (Monday – Friday) and for the length of the entire internship of 12 weeks, mid-May until mid-August.
Language Ability:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Math Ability:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing software; Spreadsheet software; Development software; Design software; Project Management software and Database software.
