What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounting Supervisor position at Corporate Tax Office?
PURPOSE
The Client Services Supervisor is responsible for overseeing financial reporting processes and ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial closings across multiple companies. This role maintains accounting principles, practices, and procedures to ensure compliance and efficiency in financial operations. The Client Services Supervisor is also responsible for managing the general ledger and supervising the Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions, ensuring all work is completed accurately and in a timely manner. This position reports directly to the Accounting Director.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Maintain adequate bank cash balances to meet operating cash flow requirements.
- Achieve optimal cash flow management for each assigned company.
- Process wire transfers for the companies.
- Provide guidance and direction to Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable staff in daily operations.
- Approve the weekly vendor check run, ensuring minimal late payments to avoid operational disruptions.
- Ensure all end of the month entries are posted in the general ledger, ensuring accurate recording of assets & liabilities.
- Prepare monthly financial reports for various clients
- Review and reconcile Financial Statements for various clients.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Reconcile monthly credit card statements and ensure proper posting to the general ledger, along with timely payments of balances.
- Complete bank account reconciliations in a timely manner.
- Ensure timely completion and accuracy of monthly financial closings and standard financial reporting packages.
- Generate ad-hoc financial reports as requested.
- Review monthly sales tax reports with the State Comptroller’s Office.
- Assist in developing and implementing new accounting procedures to enhance department workflow.
- Promote a positive work environment by fostering teamwork, collaboration, and professional development.
- Follow the workpapers model to ensure compliance and consistency in financial documentation and reporting practices.
- Supervise and mentor a team of customer service representatives to ensure high-quality service delivery.
- Communicate effectively with team members and other departments to resolve issues and improve processes.
- Negotiate with vendors or clients as needed to support customer needs.
- Lead training sessions for new hires and ongoing training for existing staff to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
