Job Description
As a Mill Tech Specialist, you will be requested to apply your skills in many different areas but will have a high focus on plug building. These areas are not limited to spraying primer, applying putty, block sanding (dry/wet), shrink wrapping parts, loading parts, and operating robots.
Qualifications
Key Responsibilities:
Operating all robots in coordination with the programmers
- Applying putty to the plugs to fix air voids.
- Rolling fiberglass once it has been applied.
- Spraying primer on special projects
- Will be a key team player on all special projects.
- Shrink wrapping finished parts.
- Loading finished parts onto trucks.
- Block sanding plugs (dry and wet sand)
- Use hand tools when necessary.
- Operating a spray putty gun.
- Operating a fiberglass chop gun.
- Assist in ordering inventory.
- Assist in putting inventory in its designated location once it is received.
- Assisting in taking the truck and trailer to empty at the dump.
- Must be flexible and willing to cross train within the department.
- Keep the work area clean and orderly.
- Follow instruction of Manager/Supervisor/Lead
- Inspects all parts so that they are complete and up to quality standards.
- Any other duties as assigned by management.
- Must comply with all OSHA and safety procedures.

Tools used in this occupation include but are not limited to:
- Personal Protective Equipment- Safety Glasses, half- mask respirator, Tyvek protection suit.
- Hand Tools- Rollers, Fiberglass chop gun, sanders, and scissors.
- Working directly with fiberglass and resin.
- Be able to use and maintain a variety of hand tools.
Knowledge, Education and Experience includes but is not limited to:
- Must be able to work effectively as an individual or with a team. Be able to use and maintain a variety of hand tools.
- Some Knowledge of FRP and composites
- Be able to complete basic installations.
- Knowledge of production processes and quality control.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to work in a non-climate-controlled environment where ambient air temperature can exceed outside air temperature.
- Must be able to bend at waist and knees and stand for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to see and identify small quality defects.
- Position requires repetitive arm, hand and shoulder movements.
- Fine motor skills required for multiple tasks.
- Must be able to climb into and out of interior of plugs.
- Must be able to wear proper safety equipment to include respirator when necessary.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds when necessary.
- This is a safety sensitive position.
