Position Summary:
The Home Care Director is responsible for the overall direction, administration and coordination of client care services by delivering the best experience, optimizing performance and leading employee connections within our agency. The Home Care Director reports to the Regional Wellness Director.
Required Experience for Home Care Director:
- Health Care Practitioner as defined in GS 90-640(a) (RN may be required; if applicable) and/ or at least two years supervisory or management experience in Home Care and/or one year supervisory or management experience and a bachelors degree in health, business or public administration

Accountabilities for Home Care Director:
- Lead, manage, and overall accountability for your team and their performance.
- Revenue for Home Care, Evaluations & Care Conferences and Service Plans: Responsible for ensuring right care, at the right price with the right staff.
- Understanding and leading to our care standards.
- Clear Communication of Vision: Ability to translate how our organizational goals relate to our team, staff and clients.
Other Key Responsibilities for Home Care Director:
- Provide clients with Client Rights and maintain signed copy in clients record
- Quarterly care conference and satisfaction survey completed with each client
- Competency checks all staff working with clients prior to them providing care for Home Care
- Maintain accurate, up to date, client records for each individual client
- Maintain all client records in agency or electronically for a MINIMUM of 7 years
- Marketing: Own the relationships with Sales Team and market Home Care throughout the community by increasing, visibility, credibility and trust
- Perform admission and ongoing evaluations of clients quarterly, upon return from Hospital or skilled environment, or change of condition (initiate care conference) and use this information to set measurable goals and outcomes for clients that meet the physical, mental, and psychosocial needs
- Manage all appropriate state regulations and auditing to ensure our Home Care is compliant
- Obtain written orders for any necessary changes to the Plan of Care
- Reviews incident reports submitted by staff members to determine if an assessment/care conference needs to be performed on an existing client & address any personnel issues which are identified
- Manage the Hiring Process: Interviews potential employees, processes hiring paperwork and facilitates onboard/orientation to care standards. Maintains appropriate records for new and existing staff
- Payroll Administration: Accurately approves and processes (bi-weekly) payroll for personal care wellness team
- Schedule/Staffing: Oversight of Lead Caregiver to create, maintain and update staff schedules to meet the needs of clients.
- Training Accountability: Maintaining all appropriate records of training for new and existing staff. Ensure all new hires receive their learning plans and complete the required training
- Financial acumen Contracts, Billing and Accounts Receivable: ensure all contracts are signed and up to date, complete and verify billing is timely and accurate, manage the A/R process. Complete all related reports. Provide support for Long-Term Care Insurance processing. Manage communication with the finance team and regional support for all areas above.
- Communication of all emergency policies and provision of updated information to staff
- Work toward continual improvement of the overall organization
- Available to work a flexible schedule including on call, weekends, and holidays when necessary
- Perform other duties as assigned

General Working Conditions:
This position entails standing for long periods of time. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to communicate effectively with others, sit, stand, walk and use hands to handle keyboard, telephone, paper, files, and other equipment and objects. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms. This position requires the ability to review detailed documents and read computer screens. The employee will occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The work environment requires appropriate interaction with others. The noise level in the work environment is moderate. Occasional travel to different locations may be required.
