What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accountant position at Corstone Contractors LLC?
Corstone Contractors LLC is a full-service general contractor with repeat customers in multifamily, commercial, and industrial projects. We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accountant with Sage 300 experience. The position will assist with month-end close, assist with weekly payroll, and provide accounts payable support for several projects. This is a full-time position with Corstone that is based in Snohomish, Washington.
Primary Responsibilities:
· Assist with month-end close. Prepare and review monthly journal entries and reconciliations. Prepare internal financial reporting and maintain WIP schedule.
· Prepare reports for monthly project budget reviews. Review and process forecast updates and assist with the preparation of monthly recap.
· Assist in the management of the field work for the annual audit. Gather financial data and information for the annual/special audits and federal tax returns.
· Reconcile bank accounts monthly.
· Review pay applications for accuracy and invoice in Sage. Track outstanding receivables and record payments in Sage.
· Prepare monthly excise tax returns. Includes monthly review of payables for sales tax paid at source.
· Assist with weekly payroll. Train to be vacation backup.
· Responsible for some project accounting (100-200 invoices per month). Timely process invoices in paperless document management system. Includes document scanning, data entry, subcontract matching, coding, invoice review and payment processing. Proactively track and collect lien waivers.
· Import credit card statements bi-weekly and match receipts. Follow-up with cardholders to obtain missing receipts and review indexed receipts.
· Establish, maintain and update procedures, policies and internal controls related to the accounting department.
· Daily cash management
Requirements:
· BA/BS Accounting or Finance preferred.
· Strong working knowledge of Excel and MS Office.
· Experience with Sage 300 accounting is highly desirable.
· Strong analytical/interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
· Ability to set priorities and to manage own time to meet deadlines.
· Ability to work accurately at a fast pace.
· Construction industry experience a plus.
