We are seeking a Purchasing Agent for our Houma, LA facility.
Job Summary:
Coordinates activities involved with procuring goods and services, such as raw materials, equipment, tools, parts and supplies for establishment.
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:
- Manage Purchasing and RFQ (Request For Quote) Dashboards.
- Create RFQ’s to vendors to obtain availability, price, and lead.
- Review quotes and negotiate price and delivery as necessary.
- Create Purchase Orders (PO’s) and manage the lifecycle of PO’s.
- Maintain and store electronic procurement records in PO/RFQ Document Reference.
- Discuss defective or unacceptable goods or services with inspection or quality control personnel, users, vendors and others to determine source of trouble and take corrective action.
- Evaluate demand and expedite purchase orders as needed.
- Sub out machine work and special processes
- Write NCR’s on vendors, request credits from vendors when needed.
- Distribute new or revised CORTEC specifications and/or drawings to vendors.
- Communicate with freight forwarders on inbound shipping details.
- Credit card receipt processing via expense reporting platform.
- Action daily Purchasing Reports.
Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree preferred. Oil and Gas Industry purchasing experience preferred.
Specialized knowledge, critical skills and competencies: A general understanding of the oil and gas industry and common industry practices/applications. Basic communication skills along with an ability to effectively and professionally communicate. Must have general computer skills.
