NOTICE OF JOB VACANCY
Job Title: Epidemiology Manager
This is administrative level work with responsibility for development, planning, implementation, oversight and coordination of data analysis and performance standards of departmental communicable disease related programs, as well as of activities, relative to community health assessment and community health improvement plan programs. The incumbent performs epidemiologic and outbreak investigations, promotes public education, encourages community awareness and implements disease prevention and control measures. Work is performed under the supervision of a Public Health Director/Deputy Public Health Director. Supervision may be exercised over technical and clerical personnel. Does related work as required.
Work Hours: Full-time, 35 hours per week, with benefits
Salary: $68,475-91,141/YR(Management)

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Either:
(a) Possession of a Master’s degree from a regionally accredited or New York State-registered college or university in epidemiology, or in public health with a concentration in epidemiology, or a health-related field with a minimum of six (6) credits in epidemiology and six (6) additional credits in epidemiology or biostatistics; OR
(b) Possession of a Bachelor’s degree or higher from a regionally accredited or New York State-registered college or university and two (2) years’ experience conducting data collection, analysis and reporting in support of surveillance and epidemiologic investigations; OR
(c) Possession of a Bachelor’s degree or higher from a regionally accredited or New York State-registered college or university and one (1) year of experience conducting data collection, analysis and reporting in support of surveillance and epidemiologic investigations and successful completion of principles of epidemiology course for health professionals given by the Centers for Disease Control, U.S. Public Health Service.

The minimum qualifications are established pursuant to NYCRR10, Chapter 11, Section 11.197
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Possession of a valid New York State driver’s license is required. Failure to maintain a NYS driver’s license including driving privileges throughout employment will result in disciplinary action or dismissal.
NOTE: Degree must have been awarded by a college or university accredited by a regional, national, or specialized agency recognized as an accrediting agency by the U.S. Department of Education/U.S. Secretary of Education. If the degree was awarded by an educational institution outside of the United States and its territories, applicant must provide independent verification of equivalency.
