Camp Description:
School District is excited to announce the sixteenth annual STAGES Theater Camp, designed for kids entering grades 3rd – 8th. This engaging and enriching camp offers students the opportunity to develop theater performance and technical skills while fostering a deeper appreciation for the arts.
This year, we are thrilled to introduce two distinct tracks for our upper division campers (grades 5th – 8th): a Performance Track and a Technical Track. The Technical Track will focus on behind-the-scenes theater skills, with classes covering lighting, sound, stage combat, costume design, makeup, scenic design, and props.
Role Overview:
The Camp Director is responsible for the overall planning, coordination, and management of daily camp activities, as well as the safety and well-being of campers and staff. This includes administrative tasks, supervising the camp environment, resolving disputes, and ensuring that the camp is well-stocked with necessary supplies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Planning, preparation and organization of daily activities and site (set-up / clean-up)
- Ensure the safety, care, and supervision of campers, staff, and camp facilities.
- Handle administrative tasks such as preparing daily newsletters and resolving any camper or staff conflicts.
- Manage employee timecards and staff hours.
- Complete accident and incident reports, reviewing any issues with the assigned Principal.
- Maintain communication with parents as directed by the school administrator
- Ensure the camp is stocked with all necessary supplies.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in summer camp leadership, teaching, or recreational programs with children.
- Background or coursework in theater arts teaching or leadership is preferred.
- Passion and energy for working with youth in a recreational setting.
- Strong interpersonal skills, able to maintain positive communication with campers, parents, and staff.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to guide and inspire both campers and staff.
- Professionalism in representing and promoting the CSD Theater program.
