Distributed Antenna System Designer
COSCO Fire Protection is a multifaceted, full service fire sprinkler and life safety systems company specializing in the installation, service and inspection of a wide variety of automatic fire sprinkler systems, fire alarm (life safety systems),Public Safety Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS/ERRCS), kitchen suppression, extinguishers and special hazard systems throughout the West Coast. COSCO Fire Protection is currently expanding our service operations for DAS/ERRCS throughout all of our district locations and offers tremendous opportunities to those service minded individuals in the fire protection/life safety marketplace.
Responsibilities:
- Attend project turn over meetings with design supervisor, sales and field superintendent.
- Use Ranplan and other radio planning software to create building and radio system models.
- Use AutoCAD and related tools to create ERRCS/DAS design drawings and submittal packages within the limits of system specifications, costs and planning.
- Prepare submittal documents and applications for permit.
- Maintain project drawing files, associated records and documentation in an orderly condition.
- Develop and maintain updated library of symbols & drawings (templates) for use on future projects in both Ranplan and AutoCAD.
- Develop spreadsheets and other tools to increase quality of drawings while decreasing time required on standard tasks.
- Operation of large plotter, scanner and reproduction equipment.
- Assist in public safety radio network inspection services which may include work on site throughout Southern California.
- Be able to work independently, with minimal supervision.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Formal CAD System or AutoCAD software training or experience.
- Basic working knowledge and understanding of Distributed Antenna Systems related electronics, codes and practices.
- Proficient with all basic computer skills and computer software applications including but not limited to MS Office, AutoCAD 2020 or higher, and Ranplan (or other similar product).
- Revit 2022 experience a plus.
- Proficient in reading and understanding Architectural, Electrical, Mechanical layouts and diagrams.
- Thorough working knowledge and understanding of NFPA codes & standards.
- Strong ability to follow directions given by supervisor to develop / design drawings.
- Excellent organization, written and oral communication skills.
- Good driving record with valid driver’s license.
- NICET IB-PSC Certification a plus.
