Cosmich Simmons & Brown, PLLC is seeking a skilled and motivated Mass and Toxic Tort Litigation Associate Attorney to join its team in the Columbia, South Carolina office. The ideal candidate should possess a minimum of three years of general litigation experience, preferably including asbestos and/or talc litigation, excellent academic credentials, and strong research, writing, communication, and advocacy skills. The candidate must thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrate a track record of high achievement, and work effectively as part of a team. Being admitted to and in good standing with the SC State Bar is required.
- Conduct legal research and draft legal documents such as motions, briefs, pleadings, and discovery responses.
- Take and defend depositions.
- Assist in trial preparation and participate in trial proceedings.
- Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and the court.
- Manage caseload and deadlines efficiently.
- Collaborate with colleagues and contribute to team efforts.
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the South Carolina State Bar in good standing.
- Minimum of 3 years of general litigation experience, preferably in mass and toxic tort litigation.
- Strong academic credentials.
- Excellent research, writing, communication, and advocacy skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, challenging environment.
