Maintenance Planner Job Summary 


The Daily Planner is responsible for scheduling, coordinating, prioritizing daily maintenance activities related to a geothermal power generation plant. Using SAP, the Planner issues work orders for preventative, predictive and corrective maintenance activities. This is a safety sensitive position. 


Maintenance Planner Primary Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Plans, prepares, issues, and controls maintenance schedules and material requirements to ensure a controlled flow of approved materials timed to meet maintenance requirements. 
  • Schedules equipment and personnel. Interacts with plant personnel to coordinate maintenance work including PM’s. Conducts the daily planning meeting. 
  • Maintain an effective interface with plant supervisors, managers and technical personnel.
  • Verify that tools, parts and materials are ready for work order execution. 
  • Use SAP to manage multiple planning assignments and assure timely completion. 
  • Using SAP, prepares work orders and purchase requests to assure material objectives are achieved. 
  • Ongoing development of equipment and job-related bill of material (BOM). 
  • Develop contracts work-scopes, conduct field walk-downs, evaluate and recommend purchase orders based on established service contracts. 
  • Analyze work-scope, technical specifications, and environmental and safety considerations into SAP that facilitates job execution. 
  • Maintain proper documentation on plant certified equipment.  
  • Create P/R for parts, materials and service if required for a work order. 
  • Managing the P.M module for the creation of the Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly, Semi-Annual, and Annual maintenance tasks and requirements.  
  • File all completed work orders away in their proper location. 
  • Supervises warehouse activities 

Maintenance Planner Essential Functions of the Job

 

The ability to speak, read and write in English. Ability to perform light physical work, exerting up to 10 pounds of force on a frequent basis, and 20 pounds of force on an occasional basis, performing tasks requiring manual dexterity (such as keyboard and ten-key device operation), and such activities as grasping, lifting, reaching, crouching, standing, walking, running, climbing, stooping, kneeling, pulling, sitting, and repetitive tasks. The ability to discern assorted colors. 


Maintenance Planner Working Conditions


Works in an office and power plant environment. Potential exposure to hot, cold, sudden change of temperature, dry, wet, dusty, dirty, quiet, noisy, and working alone or with others. Potential hazards include CTS, minor cuts, falls, eyesight and hearing impairment. Wearing of personal protective equipment is necessary, as is the ability to legally operate Company vehicles.

Requirements

Maintenance Planner Prerequisites


High School Diploma or equivalent; plus 3 years relevant experience primarily working with steam generating power plant equipment, or equivalent training and/or operations experience is required. SAP relevant experience preferred. Ability to read and interpret PFD’s and P&ID’s. Must possess a valid driver license. Authorized to work in the United States.

  • Strong organizational skills 
  • Strong computer skills including SAP, O365 and MS Project experience. 
  • Ability to manage multiple projects. 
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. 
  • Ability to read, interpret and retrieve information from technical drawings, specifications, and manuals. 
  • Good use of formulas for calculations, extensions and discount applications. 
  • Ability to learn and execute emergency response procedures. 
  • Reliability, proven ability to communicate and multitask, well organized, team oriented, promotes a safety culture that eliminates risk of injury, strong bias for action to meet goals and deadlines, takes responsibility for decisions and implements solutions, possesses an in-depth knowledge of plant generation systems, processes and practices.
