DESCRIPTION
The Maintenance Coordinator is responsible for repairing critical equipment to support our teams and minimize production downtime. This role contributes to efficient operations through collaboration and coordination with maintenance and other departments.
PRIMARY DUTIES
- Maintain all aspects of greenhouse machinery using Computerized Maintenance Management System, C.M.M.S., Preventive Maintenance (P.M.)
- Repair all aspects of greenhouse machinery including rolling stock, environmental equipment, production equipment and air compressors.
- Program and set up new and existing machinery as necessary.
- Inspects and identifies equipment or machines in need of repair.
- Troubleshoots issues to determine necessary repairs and supplies required.
- Plans repair work using building’s blueprints or equipment manual as needed.
- Request supplies and materials needed for repairs and maintenance.
- Thoroughly cleans machines and machine parts, removing parts and reinstalling as necessary.
- Oils and lubricates moving parts on machines to ensure effective performance.
- Records and reports damaged, worn, or broken parts.
- Prepares reports documenting work performed.
- Cleans and assists with upkeep of the facilities.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Follows instructions from leadership, other maintenance team workers, and any other subject matter expert (SME).
- Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills and completes Goals on time.
- Sets correct priorities depending on the season.
- Communicates effectively with people from diverse cultures and backgrounds.
- Committed to Safety and uses appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (P.P.E.) as necessary.
- Uses hand tools and power tools safely and with efficiency.
- Safely operates power industrial vehicles. (Forklift, scissor lift, sweeper, etc)
- Works well independently with minimum supervision and as a team.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Related experience preferred.
- Knowledge of electrical, mechanical and plumbing repair.
- Mechanically inclined with great problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency using all tools and equipment necessary to make permanent repairs.
- Proficiency in permanent repairs using PVC piping.
- Proficiency operating powered vehicles (sweepers, forklifts, electric carts, scissor lifts, etc)
- Must be available to work weekends.
- On-the-job training offered.

WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Outdoor environment, in all kinds of weather. Extreme heat, humidity, cold and rain. Works around Soil, water, plants, allergens and insects.
- Prefers to work in a team environment but be comfortable working on independent tasks with minimal supervision.
- Proficient verbal communication skills and the ability to listen, understand and follow directions.
- Ability to climb ladders and heights using PPE, lift up to 50 lbs and stand and/or sit for prolonged periods.
- Flexibility to work extra time or weekends, adapt to changing priorities and work schedules as needed.
