Position Summary: Responsible for inspecting and processing returned product received from members and warehouses. This job is described in 12 distinct tasks, with employees typically spending 100% of their workday performing any single task, depending on training and experience.
Job Duties/Essential Functions:
- Receives and sorts pallets of large an bulky product into appropriate disposition.
- Receives and sorts boxes of product based on disposition of product.
- Performs quality control and consolidates product pulled from warehouses by buyers.
- Sorts items to be sold to salvage. Moves product to appropriate pallets based on product type.
- Sorts product returned to vendors. Moves product to appropriate pallets or location in steel. Processes and prepares full pallets ready for shipping.
- Processes merchandise for shipping and/or to return to vendor.
- Receives product returned from online sales. Sorts product based on disposition of product and moves to appropriate pallets.
- Monitors loads received from warehouses for accuracy.
- Ensures accuracy of shipments received from warehouses.
- Coordinates shipping of pallets of product to appropriate location based on disposition.
- Rotation to other clerk positions within the depot may also be required.
Non-Essential Functions :
- Assists in other areas of the department and depot as necessary.
- Ability to operate vehicles, equipment or machinery.
- Manual pallet jack, Electronic pallet jack, Dock plates, trash compactor, cardboard baler.
Experience, skills, education & licenses/certifications Required:
- Using Option STOP, HazMat RTV Bucket Program, Universal Waste Training (short version) (one time within 30 days of hire), Costco Hazardous Materials DOT Training Course: Part 1 and Part 2 (within 30 days of hire and then every year- Training provided by Costco).
- General knowledge of computers.
- Basic math skills.
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
Additional Information:
- Scheduled hours will be between the hours of 5:00 am and 1:30 pm.
- Part time hours range from 24 to 40 hours per week.
- Saturday availability a must.
- Possibility of being trained to operate equipment (forklift and/or EPJ) after completing 90-day probationary period and based on business needs.
- Steel-toe shoes required at all times.
