JOB SUMMARY
As a GIS/Geophysical Analyst at Coterra you will gather and condition technical data. Encompassing onboarding and mastery of data, and aggregation and dissemination of information, in order to improve comprehensive geospatial and geophysical knowledge across the organization.
You will create and maintain data links to GIS and Spotfire software and be responsible for adding, creating and maintaining GIS data in a local environment; while collaborating with enterprise GIS analysts; performing spatial and tabular analysis; supporting mobile field data collection; monitoring system networks; developing project reports and workflow documentations. This position is located onsite at our headquarters in Houston, Texas.
ESSENTIAL DUITES AND RESPONSIBLIITES
Maintain geophysical digital and physical data
Responsible for database management and I/O from the Kingdom software used for seismic interpretation
Assist in creating and maintaining data links to GIS and Spotfire software
Responsible for adding, creating and maintaining GIS data in a local environment; collaborating with enterprise GIS analysts; performing spatial and tabular analysis; supporting mobile field data collection; monitoring system networks; developing project reports and workflow documentations
Assists geoscientists with various research and analytical projects
Responsible for scheduled, structured, data entry, export, and dissemination for various geophysics-related datasets. Routine tasks include onboarding of seismic data (SEGY), archiving and management of data agreements and contracts, geophysical metadata entry into internal info bases
Database management in SQL and MS office software, working with IT to enable live-data connections to GIS and Kingdom software, coding and entry of AFE's and Invoices, and database maintenance/cleanup of multiple Kingdom projects
Gather, analyze, and integrate spatial data for mapping, reporting, analysis, and presentation
Perform edits to geospatial data while maintaining proper data quality and integrity
Develop and maintain GIS models/scripts for process automation
Provide mapping and general GIS support across multiple disciplines within the organization
Other duties as assigned, such as database updating of seismicity catalogs in multiple software systems, log/seismic data procurement and conditioning for region geoscientists, assistance with bid tender proposals, spatial analytics in GIS software, download and conditioning of well production/injection data, basic processing of seismic data (training is provided)
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Experienced with loading and manipulation of seismic and well log data or similar time series data. Prefer experience with Kingdom suite, Hampson-Russell and industry standard GIS software
Experienced with Python with a desire to develop more advanced skills
Proficient with Microsoft Office and Spotfire
Functional with implementing back-end data harvesting via API's, SFTP and with a desire to develop more advanced skills
Basic understanding of geoscience. Experience in an E&P or geophysical consulting company is strongly preferred
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's Degree
Bachelors or Masters in Geosciences preferred
YEARS OF EXPERIENCE
Minimum of 3 years of experience preferred with GIS; Relevant experience associated with upstream Oil & Gas Operations
