JOB SUMMARY
As a Senior Training & Development Specialist at Coterra , you will play a key role in facilitating and delivering impactful training programs to support employee growth and organizational objectives. Your position will place a strong emphasis on presentation, facilitation, and administrative skills to ensure training initiatives run efficiently. This role is ideal for a creative, detail-oriented professional with a passion for delivering and designing training solutions that empower employees and drive organizational success. As part of the Human Resources team, the Senior Training & Development Specialist will report to the Manager of Organizational Development and collaborate with business leaders, HR managers, and subject matter experts. This position is located on site at our headquarters in Houston, Texas.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Facilitate and deliver training programs, including in-person workshops, virtual sessions, and e-learning modules, to employees at all levels within an organization.
Coordinate training logistics, including scheduling, communication, materials preparation, and participant records
Maintain and update training resources such as job aids, quick reference guides, and presentation decks
Support the evaluation of training effectiveness by gathering participant feedback and tracking outcomes
Administer the learning management system (LMS), ensuring accurate data entry, user access, and smooth system performance
Work with external vendors to coordinate training sessions and integrate tools or platforms into current programs
Job requirements
SKILLS AND EXPEREINCE
Proven experience in creating and delivering learning programs and facilitating leadership workshops
Strong organizational and administrative skills to manage multiple training programs and deadlines
Solid content development experience and a deep understanding of learning methodologies
Exceptional communication, program management, and influencing skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Expertise with learning management systems (LMS), Workday preferred
Preferred certifications include ATD, SHRM, Birkman, or similar credentials
Experience in the oil and gas or technical industries is a plus
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree required, preferably in human resources, or a related field.
YEARS OF EXPERIENCE
Minimum of five (5) years of experience in training and facilitation, including two (2) years developing and delivering leadership programs.
Minimum of two (2)years of people management experience. :
TRAVEL REQUIEMENTS
Percent of Travel Required : 15 - 20%
