Job Summary:
The Revenue Cycle Specialist provides direct support to the Revenue Cycle Management Director to ensure revenue capture integrity. Works closely with Patient Financial Services and Health Information Management/Coding teams. Develops reporting and dashboards to measure and enhance operational performance. Researches denials from all commercial and governmental payors.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Improve billing & collection processes and identify points of failure and appropriate course of actions with Revenue Cycle Management Director
- Monitor and analyze revenue cycle metrics to find ways to improve
- Prepare and analyze financial reports for the Patient Financial Services Manager & Revenue Cycle Management Director
- Monitor and identify potential loss or delay in revenue to ensure maximum reimbursement. Seek and suggest solutions to maximize revenue capture & reimbursement
- Monitor EHR work que's, identify and communicate trends
- Resolve claim denials and work with insurance companies as needed
- Enter Service Requests with EHR vendor and follow through to resolution
- Exhibit strong written and verbal communication skills
- Stay up to date on healthcare regulations and inform Revenue Cycle Management Director
- Special projects and other tasks as needed
