Summary:
This position works in the Global Supply Chain Marketing division of Cotton Incorporated to identify, develop, and execute marketing programs that increase cotton’s presence in nontraditional products (beyond apparel and home textiles). This position must understand and work at the intersection of marketing strategy, business development, and technical marketing to design, execute, and manage comprehensive marketing programs. Core Functions:
• Identify market opportunities to further the use of cotton as an ingredient in new product applications
• Evaluate business potential for cotton use and develop marketing strategies and programs
• Work with a holistic strategic and tactical understanding of technical development, marketing, and business development
• Initiate marketing programs with external contacts including retailers, manufacturers, brands, and supply chain organizations
• Coordinate technical research information to direct and enhance marketing programs
• Manage, programs, budget, and personnel in the New Market Development department
• Represent Cotton Incorporated at client meetings, trade events and corporate meetings
Job Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or field related to textiles marketing; Master’s degree strongly preferred
• 10 years of relevant work experience in or related to textile marketing, textile technology, marketing of consumer products, and/or marketing of fiber or nonwoven products
• Experience working to identify and evaluate new product applications
• Knowledge of nonwovens materials and/or fibers, a plus
• Experience managing people, programs, and budgets
• Knowledge of marketing principles and ability to formulate marketing objectives and programs
• Ability to understand and evaluate technical information as it relates to technologies and the manufacturing of textiles
• Ability to coordinate and conduct multiple projects simultaneously
• Ability to analyze, interpret, distill and compile data and information to support marketing efforts
• Advanced professional written and verbal communication; experience in presenting or public speaking
• Ability to interact with and conduct meetings with companies throughout the supply chain including technology suppliers, manufacturers, and brands
• Team-oriented approach – ability to work independently and within a team
• Strong work ethic, motivation, and initiative
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• This position requires domestic and international travel up to 30% of the time
Working Conditions / Physical Demands:
• General office environment with quiet to moderate noise level
• Varied working conditions off-site due to travel

• Regularly required to sit and use hands to type and grasp, with frequent standing, walking, and bending/twisting at the neck/waist
