Essential Functions
- Develop and execute strategies to exceed annual sales goals and expand the customer base.
- Supervise and support Customer Service, Sales, and New Business Development teams.
- Consistently achieve and exceed sales and business growth targets set with senior management.
- Communicate effectively and professionally verbally and in writing with internal teams, customers, vendors, and senior management.
- Proficiently use Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.
- Professionally represent HNI at trade shows, industry events, and offsite customer visits.
- Develop in-depth knowledge of HNI products and their applications.
- Collaborate across departments, especially Shipping and Growing, to maintain alignment.
- Provide regular, detailed sales and business development reports and analyses for the executive team
- Regular and reliable attendance required.
- Work onsite with travel required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in horticulture, business, or a related field strongly preferred.
- 5 years of experience in sales, horticulture preferred.
- Proven supervisory experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant software applications.
- Strong and effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated skills in listening, negotiation, and presentations.
- Initiative and ability to work independently.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to safety.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting or standing at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
- Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities.
Position Details
This is a full-time, onsite, salaried position, averaging 40-45 hours per week. Travel is required.
