What are the responsibilities and job description for the Billing Coordinator position at Counseling and Forensic Services?
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Billing Coordinator to join our team. This role requires a strong background in medical billing, with expertise in federal and district billing. Proficiency in SimplePractice or similar billing software is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, review and submit accurate invoices for mental health services to federal and district agencies, evidence based associates (EBA) and department of corrections
- Manage authorizations, insurance payments, and resolve non-payments while coordinating with collection agencies
- Ensure compliance with billing regulations and organizational policies
- Maintain accurate records of billing transactions and payments
- Utilize SimplePractice and other billing platforms to manage invoicing and payment tracking efficiently
- Resolve billing discrepancies and follow up on outstanding invoices to ensure timely collections
- Work closely with internal teams to gather necessary documentation and billing information
- Generate reports and provide insights to support financial decision-making
- Stay updated on industry standards and regulatory requirements to ensure compliance
Qualifications:
- Mental-health or medical billing - 2 years of experience required
- Proficiency in billing software (SimplePractice) and Microsoft Excel
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills and ability to multitask
- Self motivator with excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
