We have a Saturday and Sunday overnight weekend 7 : 00pm - 7 : 00am opening at our YES Tulsa office . The role of a Life Skills Coach requires a completion of 60 hours of college or equivalent experience. Equivalent may include substituting up to 2 years of relevant employment, or responsibility in the care of children with complex emotional needs. Under the general supervision of the Director and utilizing the best practices model as communicated by the State of Oklahoma, Life Skills Coaches provide behavior management, redirection, problem solving and remedial training to include communication, coping strategies, self-help strategies, safety principles, substance use decision strategies, and daily living skills for residents of the Urgent Recovery Center.
The starting hourly rate for Life Skills Coach is $19.50 an hour.

Counseling & Recovery Services of Oklahoma provides mental health and substance abuse treatment, physical health care management and wellness services for over 5,000 children and adults annually. We are Oklahoma's only community mental health center certified in the Sanctuary model of care. Due to tremendous growth, we are hiring Life Skills Coaches at our YES Tulsa location. As a member of our CRS team, you will have the opportunity to improve the quality of life for our patients by delivering one-on-one clinical guidance and support.
Special Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :
- Demonstrate the ability to provide resident supervision.
- Demonstrate the ability to identify strengths and needs of the youth.
- Ability to resolve conflict.
- Demonstrate basic knowledge of disorders / diagnoses of childhood.
- Demonstrate knowledge of the developmental stages of childhood and family.
- Demonstrate an understanding of the effects of trauma, including child abuse and neglect as well as other types of traumas on the child and family (e.g. medical trauma, witnessing domestic abuse or violence, accidents, war, natural disaster, etc.)
- Demonstrating and understanding of disabilities, including the effects of disabilities on the child and the family, and community attitudes towards children with disabilities and their families.
- Demonstrate the ability to manage challenging behaviors and teach appropriate behavioral skills.
- Demonstrate the ability to observe, record and report health symptoms, behavior and activity of residents as related to their family and community culture, as well as be able to demonstrate the ability to observe and document symptoms as outlined in procedure.
- Ability to work well under pressure with efficiency and consistency while maintaining a balance between good physical and mental health and the job requirements.
- Ability to manage challenging behaviors and teach appropriate behavioral skills.
- An understanding of sensitivity to and respect for family roles, culture, socioeconomic status, and value differences.
Example of Position Responsibilities :
Other Duties : Perform other duties as assigned by the Director, Nurse, or clinician on duty.
Physical Requirements : Must be able to move from location to location, bending, stooping, lifting 25 pounds, communicate clearly, prepare written communications, present information to other employees, process complex information within established procedures / programs, enter data to various programs. Must be able to climb stairs and access non-handicapped equipped residences / facilities.
