Country Club of Landfall is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Swim Instructor to teach swim lessons to Members of all ages and skill levels. General Requirements
- 16 years old
- 2-3 years swimming experience
- Knowledge of the 4 swim strokes
- Experience communicating and teaching people of all ages
- Great customer service skills
- Able to lift 25 pounds
- Able to work in outdoor conditions (rain, humidity, thunder, lightning, etc.)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- American Red Cross Lifeguard & CPR/AED Certified preferred
- American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor (WSI) Certified preferred
Job Description
The role of a Swim Instructor is to instruct swimmers on the basics of stroke technique and provide an environment to keep swimmers safe. They are responsible for providing structured skills to swimmers of all ages in both a private and group setting.
- A Swim Instructor will plan and implement swim lessons for swimmers of all ages and abilities
- A Swim Instructor will be able to work in a private setting with swimmers, as well as have the skills to work in a small group setting in regard to swim instruction.
- Teach water safety techniques and swimming fundamentals.
- Monitor and ensure a safe swimming environment at all times.
- Encourage and motivate swimmers to build confidence and improve skills.
- The Swim Instructor is responsible for engaging with members, providing impeccable customer service and exemplary communication skills while providing feedback about progress.
- A Swim Instructor will take the initiative to complete necessary tasks without direction and will be able to maintain a safe environment for swimmers
- A Swim Instructor will attend monthly in-service meetings to stay on top of their training to continue providing the best service to the members
- Maintain a positive, professional, and engaging attitude with members.
Reports to: Aquatics and Wellness Manager
Schedule: Must have flexible availability as lessons can be scheduled sporadically
