What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Dive Coach position at COUNTRY CLUB OF MOBILE INC?
JOB SUMMARY: Coaching at the Country Club of Mobile is a fun opportunity to work with children of all ages to help foster a love for the water and learning of the competitive sport of swimming. Practices are Monday through Friday from 9-11:45a, except for the first week which is May 17. Practices will be held that week in the afternoons to accommodate for the kids still being in school. We usually have swim meets on Tuesday afternoon/evenings each week. Our Championships are held in July at Bishop State in Downtown Mobile. It is a great opportunity to grow as a coach, work with other like-minded and fun individuals, and learn from our Head Coach, who is a Division 1 college coach. Looking for positive individuals who are excited about learning the sport of swimming and helping teach it to young people.
SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Responsible for the hands-on skill development of all swim/dive team participants.
Assists in organizing home swim/dive meets, including but not limited to, meet prep work, technology assistance and set up, meet entries, assisting individual swimmers/divers in clerk of course and behind the blocks.
Assists in the day-to-day running of the swim/dive team.
Motivates swimmers/divers to achieve individual goals and promotes team spirit.
May teach private, semi-private, and group swim/dive lessons to youth as directed by the Aquatics Director/Head Swim Coach
Create a great team environment for members of swim/dive team and parents.
Conduct daily training and coaching for members of the swim/dive team.
Coach and attend all swim/dive meets.
Maintain and create communication and communication pieces with members and managers about the swim/dive team, pool activities and special events.
Enforces club rules of safety and conduct.
Maintains flexibility to take on new and different tasks as directed by the Head Swim/Dive Coach.
Attends staff meetings.
Season begins May 17th
