Assistant Swim and Dive Coach
Reports to: Head Swim and Dive Coaches Department: Aquatics FLSA Classification: Non-exempt
Job Summary
The Assistant Swim and Dive Coach supports The Country Club of Mobile’s (CCM) competitive swim and dive programs. This role assists in coaching and training participants, promoting sportsmanship, and ensuring the safety and well-being of all participants.

Duties/Responsibilities:
Develops a calendar of swimming and diving events with measurable goals and objectives.
Responsible for the hands-on skill development of all swim/dive team participants.
Assists in organizing home swim/dive meets, including but not limited to meet prep work, assisting individual swimmers/divers, and post-race ribbon distribution.
Assists in the day-to-day running of the swim/dive team.
Motivates swimmers/divers to achieve individual goals and promotes team spirit.
Help teach private, semi-private, and group swim/dive lessons to youth.
Creates a great team environment for members of swim/dive team and parents.
Conducts daily training and coaching for members of the swim/dive team.
Coaches and attends all swim/dive meets.
Organizes and schedules private swim/dive lessons with parents.
Ensures registration of members and pool charges for lessons and activities are logged.
Maintains and creates communication and communication pieces with members and managers about the swim/dive team, pool activities, and special events.
Enforces club rules of safety and conduct.
Maintains flexibility to take on new and different task as directed by the Head Swim/Dive Coach.
Attends staff meetings.

Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Knowledge of water rescue methods.
Knowledge of life guarding and first-aid practices and techniques.
Knowledge of swimming pool operations to include sanitation, maintenance, and safety.
Must have the ability to interact with pool patrons courteously and firmly.
Ability and skill in carrying out water rescues.
Must be available to work flexible shifts, including for emergency and scheduled work requirements on evenings, weekends, or holidays.
Ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction on given assignments.
Education and Experience:
Participant or previous participation in competitive swim competitions; or two (2) years related experience; or equivalent combination of certification and experience.
CPR, AED, Lifeguard, and First Aid certification.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift, push or pull up to 30 lbs., with or without accommodation.
Requires long periods of time standing, swimming, and frequent bending.
