Position Responsibilities:
The award-winning Country Inn & Suites-Mall of America is looking for FT Housekeeping Supervisor to join their respected Housekeeping team.
Specific duties of the FT Housekeeping Room Supervisor are outlined below.
Ensure all operational and safety procedures are properly followed.
- Inspect and approve employees work performance on a daily basis.
- Manage customer housekeeping problems.
- Demonstrate leadership and training to staff.
- Communicate effectively to staff
- Meet goals of production
- Establish schedule and plan daily work assignments.
- Train and coach employees in Uniforms and housekeeping area
- Develop and train staff on Country Inn and Suites by Radisson Operation Standards.
Participates in the development and implementation of business strategies for the hotel which are aligned with Country Inn’s overall mission, vision values and strategies
- Perform all shift checklist responsibilities & reporting requirements
- Be familiar with Country Inn Hotel, departments, hours of operation and services of the hotel
- Answer basic Housekeeping related questions
- Assist team with training, supplies and support in order to consistently provide quality guest rooms and public areas
- Comply with federal laws and break periods
- Properly maintain hotel keys and electronic cards (key control)
- Complete maintenance work orders and deliver to the supervisor in a timely manner
- Turn in all lost and found items in accordance with lost and found procedures
- Inspect guestrooms are properly clean, dust, scrub, polish when needed in accordance with hotel procedures and Housekeeping Room Attendant checklist
- Maintain status reports for guest rooms
- Follow procedures for ‘do not disturb’ rooms
- Actively participate in housekeeping’s ‘deep clean’ or ‘preventive maintenance’ programs
- Participate in all departmental meetings
- Participate in required training programs
- Run all Housekeeping Reports
- Report any damage and hazards
- Report suspicious activity in hallways or in the Hotel.
- Answering the housekeeping phone and fulfilling guest requests
- Consistently walk the hotel for inspection purposes
Manages the day-to-day operations of the housekeeping, public space and laundry areas for assigned shifts. Ensures that the rooms and public space areas are spotless and continually restocked and straightened
- Participates in the development and implementation of processes, procedures and standards for departments which support achievement of service and financial goals.
- Inspects rooms and public space areas continually
- Determines appropriate staffing levels for forecasted business and schedules employees accordingly
- Follow up providing employees with customer service, technical and safety training on an ongoing basis
- Tracks the inventory, purchasing and disbursement for all linens, cleaning supplies, customer room and restroom supplies, laundry supplies, etc.
- Supervises the operation (and/or outsourced relationship) with the laundry
- Monitors assigned departments with compliance to safety standards
- Coordinates room availability with the Front Office Manager
Develops and implements strategies and practices which support employee engagement
- Communicates performance expectations and provides employees with on-going feedback
- Provides employees with coaching and counseling as needed to achieve performance objectives and reach their fullest potential
Creates 100% guest satisfaction by providing the Country Inn experience through performance that demonstrates the standards of, genuine hospitality and exceeding guest expectations
- Gives personal attention, takes personal responsibility and uses teamwork when providing guest service
- Listens, apologizes with empathy, finds a solution and follows through when resolving guest problems
- Provides Yes I Can! genuine hospitality and teamwork on an ongoing basis
- Assumes the responsibility to notice when the guest is not satisfied and uses their best judgment as to when it is appropriate to use the 100% Guest Satisfaction
Performs other duties as required by Management to provide 100% Guest Satisfaction and genuine hospitality to our Guests.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum one year in a supervisory or management housekeeping position required
- High school diploma or GED required
- Able to collaborate effectively with other hotel employees and managers to ensure teamwork
- Ability to speak and read both English and Spanish preferred
- Strong organizational skills
- Able to work a variable schedule to include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- May need to sit or stand for long periods of time
- Proper lifting techniques required
- Exertion up to 75 pounds of force occasionally and/or 50 pounds of forces frequently
- Ability to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects
- Ability to use various equipment such as vacuum cleaners and buffers
- Ability to move throughout the hotel (standing, walking, kneeling, and bending) for extended periods of time.
- Ability to make repeating movements of the arms, hands, and wrists.
- Ability to express or exchange ideas verbally and perceive sound by ear.
- Manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and ability to work with hand above shoulders.
- Ability to turn or twist body parts in a circular motion.
- Ability to tolerate exposure to heat, cold, chemicals, and loud/noisy environment.
