A little bit about us! We have been a full-service, small animal hospital located just outside of historic downtown Palm Harbor for over 30 years that strives to provide state-of-the-art technology and progressive medicine. We are now proud to offer an innovative specialty center for pain management, rehabilitation, and regenerative medicine to our community as well. We are equipped with a revolutionary rehabilitation gym, hydrotherapy, neurology-based acupuncture, advanced pain management therapies, and sports medicine and conditioning. We are the only veterinary practice in Pinellas County to provide such a vast array of modalities under one roof to our clients and patients. Aside from our pain management, acupuncture and rehabilitation certifications, we have also been certified Fear-Free practice, and certified as a Feline Friendly Practice, for over ten years. We are energized with a new associate veterinarian who also loves treating our exotic patients in the area! Every day is filled with a diverse caseload here at Country Oaks Animal Hospital.

We are seeking a skilled veterinary technician to work for our ever-growing practice who is interested in veterinary rehabilitation. A certified veterinary technician who is also certified in canine rehabilitation is a plus for this position. The person for this role will primarily take care of our rehabilitation appointments but will also help with our daily general practice duties as we are still growing our rehabilitation center. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated strong skills across all aspects of veterinary technician duties and a deep working knowledge of small animal health, supported by excellent communication skills, a robust work ethic, a desire to learn, and a team mentality. A few of the daily job duties include, but are not limited to:

*Performing rehabilitation which includes underwater treadmill, therapeutic laser and therapeutic exercises

*Assisting with acupuncture

*Assisting with pain/rehabilitation consultations

*Tracking patient progress throughout each appointment
* Restraint and assisting during common evaluations and procedures
* Professional client communication and education obtaining medical histories and symptoms
* Proficient in prophylactic dental cleanings
* Anesthetic nursing for routine and emergent surgical procedures (our clinical staff is responsible for all aspects of anesthesia from induction to recovery!)
* Laboratory procedures including hematology, cytology, urinalysis, and fecal cytology
* Phlebotomy (especially geriatric and pediatric patients) and indwelling catheter placement
* Diagnostic imaging (digital radiography, ultrasound guided sampling, and dental radiology)
* Obtain vitals and administer medications parenterally
