What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bookkeeping Associate position at Country Store?
Bookkeeping Associates are responsible for tracking and managing financial data. Bookkeeping Associates focus on creating and maintaining records. This position will work with our 3 different gas station locations.
Responsibilities
Transaction Documentation
- Detail Recording: Accurately document all financial transactions, including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments.
- Transaction Verification: Ensure all transaction details are verified and supported by appropriate documentation.
- Oversight everyday bank accounts ensuring balances. If you identify any overdraft and/or any unusual transaction, report immediately to Accounting manager.
- Reconciliation: Reconcile daily shift reports to bank deposit per the POS. Prepare a workbook summary for month-end for Account Manager to review.
Financial Reporting
- Report Compilation: Assemble comprehensive financial reports that reflect the company's financial status.
- Data Analysis: Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
Accounting Data Verification
- Fact-Checking: Review and verify the accuracy of accounting data to ensure it is free from errors.
- Data Consistency: Ensure consistency in financial records by cross-referencing and validating data entries.
Error Notification
- Error Identification: Identify and report any accounting errors or discrepancies promptly.
- Senior Staff Communication: Notify senior staff of any issues to ensure timely resolution and maintain financial accuracy.
Interest Calculation
- Interest Computation: Calculate interest charges on loans, credit accounts, and other financial instruments.
- Accurate Posting: Ensure accurate posting of interest charges to the appropriate accounts.
Financial Transaction Recording
- Daily Recording: Record all financial transactions promptly to maintain up-to-date financial records.
- Double-Entry System: Utilize a double-entry bookkeeping system to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.
Payroll Processing
- Payroll Management: Process payroll data accurately, ensuring timely and correct payment of employee salaries and wages.
- Payroll Tracking: Track and record all payroll-related transactions, including deductions, benefits, and taxes.
- Employee Files: Coordinate with HR and executive management to update any Employee folder ensuring that all hire documentation is there, security and scanned.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 36 – 40 per week
