RESPONSIBILITIES AND MAJOR DUTIES:
1. Handle and prepare food in a sanitary manner.
2. Prepare food which is palatable and appetizing in appearance.
3. Keep work area clean and sanitize work surfaces after food preparation.
4. Follow written menus and recipes.
5. Understand and be able to prepare therapeutic diets.
6. Be responsible for avoiding food waste.
7. Assume responsibility for meeting meal schedules.
8. Ensure food service equipment is in and is kept in good working order.
9. Work cooperatively with dietary staff and other departments.
10.Attend in-service training programs for dietary employees.
11.Observe infection control procedures.
12.Ensure the Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI) process is followed in accordance to State
& Federal Guidelines.
13.Follow Residents’ Rights policies at all times.
14.Adhere to all facility policies & procedures, ensure they are adhered to by all responsible
parties and assist in carrying out disciplinary action for non-compliance as appropriate.
15.Ensure adherence to the Corporate Integrity Program and the Performance Expectations at all
times.
16.Perform other related duties as directed by the Dietary Manager and/or person of authority.
