What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mechanical Engineering Summer Internship position at Countrymark Refining and Logistics?
Position Summary: This internship is designed to provide the student with an opportunity to experience what CountryMark has to offer the in their field of interest. The Intern will receive assignments with objectives and milestones and will complete a presentation regarding their work and experience at the completion of their internship.
Interns are involved in education and training programs designed to provide students with professional experience in the furtherance of their education and training. Candidate will experience applying their classroom instruction to a real world employment setting.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities (not limited to the following):
* Assist with gathering information from past maintenance turnarounds.
* Assist with creating the new Reliability Group work processes and systems.
* Evaluate refinery equipment for remaining operating life.
* Oversee various reliability projects – Piping, E&I, Pumps.
* Provide AutoCad drafting support for various reliability projects – AutoCad is not a requirement.
* Adhere to company work hours, policies, procedures and rules governing professional staff behavior.
* Adhere to company policies and procedures governing the handling of confidential information.
* Assume personal and professional responsibilities for his/her actions and activities.
* Maintain professional relationship with supervisor, fellow employees and others.
* Prepare for and utilize conferences and other opportunities of learning afforded in the company.
* Be consistent and punctual in submission of all work assignments to their supervisor.
* Provide the faculty coordinator with periodic progress reports.
Working Conditions (relates to physical environment):
Works both in an indoor office environment and outside in the refinery. Occasionally, the candidate may be exposed to high noise environment, dust, dirt, grease, exposure to potential hydrocarbon leaks, and they may be exposed to odors from the refinery processes. CountryMark will provide Personal Protection Equipment for the candidate duties.
Physical Demands:
Typically, may sit comfortably to perform the work. However, candidate must be able to stoop and bend on a frequent basis. Occasionally, may be required to perform moderate lifting of up to 25-50 lbs. Good hearing, vision, and depth perception are required. Must be able to enter processing units, climb and maneuver around equipment for troubleshooting.
Minimum Requirements:
GPA of 3.0 on 4.0 scale.
