Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Commercial Construction Estimator to prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for commercial construction projects. The ideal candidate will analyze project plans, evaluate materials and labor costs, and collaborate with project teams to ensure accurate and profitable bids. This role requires strong analytical skills, industry knowledge, and attention to detail to support project success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze architectural plans, specifications, and project documents to develop detailed cost estimates.
- Prepare comprehensive estimates for labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and other project costs.
- Conduct quantity takeoffs and cost breakdowns using estimating software.
- Communicate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain accurate pricing and competitive bids.
- Identify project risks, cost-saving opportunities, and value engineering options.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to refine estimates and address project requirements.
- Track market trends, labor costs, and material pricing to ensure accurate and up-to-date estimates.
- Prepare bid proposals, budgets, and cost forecasts for commercial projects.
- Assist in contract negotiations and scope development.
- Maintain records of historical project costs to improve estimating accuracy.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Commercial Construction Estimator or in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of commercial construction methods, materials, and cost structures.
- Proficiency in estimating software such as Procore and Microsoft 365.
- Ability to read and interpret construction blueprints, contracts, and specifications.
- Excellent mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
- Attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (preferred but not required).
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in commercial construction estimating.
- Experience with commercial projects such as office buildings, retail spaces, restaurants, and industrial facilities is a plus.
