What are the responsibilities and job description for the Montessori Guide (Ages 1yr-2yrs) position at Countryside Montessori Day School?
Are you passionate about Montessori education and early childhood development? Do you love the idea of spending your days exploring nature, nurturing young minds, and being part of a supportive, purpose-driven community?
Countryside Montessori Day School is seeking a full-time Toddler Guide to join our team and care for our littlest learners (ages 1–2).
About Us:
Since 2007, Countryside has been a trusted leader in Montessori education in the Kansas City Northland. Located just 10 minutes from KCI Airport, our school is tucked away on 80 acres of gorgeous, family-owned countryside, where children ages 6 weeks to 12 years grow, explore, and learn in a rich, natural environment.
Our toddler program is a warm, peaceful space designed to foster independence, communication, and connection in our youngest students. We follow a traditional Montessori approach and spend time outside every single day—whether it’s sunny, snowy, or somewhere in between.
What You’ll Do:
- Engage with toddlers in a calm, respectful, and joyful way
- Support diapering, toileting, cleaning, and daily care routines
- Help plan, rotate, and present age-appropriate Montessori materials
- Maintain a clean, safe, and prepared environment
- Communicate positively and professionally with families and coworkers
- Spend meaningful time outdoors with the children—in all types of weather
- Work closely with a team that values collaboration, flexibility, and kindness
What We’re Looking For:
- A gentle, dependable caregiver with a passion for working with toddlers
- Someone who can stay calm, organized, and joyful in a busy classroom
- A team player who values clear communication and consistency
- Experience in Montessori or early childhood education is preferred
- Someone open to training and long-term growth in the Montessori method
- Comfort with routine physical tasks (bending, lifting, diaper changes, etc.)
What We Offer:
- A beautiful, nature-immersed work environment like no other
- Supportive leadership and a close-knit, passionate team
- Opportunities for professional development and Montessori certification
- Casual dress code (modesty required), freedom to be yourself
- A meaningful role where your work makes a lasting difference
This is a full-time position. Referrals from previous employers, mentors, or supervisors are required when submitting your resume.
