Do you have a PgC / PgD or DMU in any given area ofultrasound and a desire to develop your independent ultrasound skills andexpertise? If so we would be are very interested in hearing from.
We offer a range of Ultrasound examinations includingobstetrics, gynaecology, abdominal, small parts musculoskeletal and Doppler.
All rooms have high specification equipment, most of whichhave been recently upgraded.
We are fully committed to CPD and encourage ongoingtraining.
Experience is desirable, although newly qualifiedsonographers will be considered.

Main duties of the job
Toproduce high quality diagnostic ultrasound reports, which make a positivecontribution to patient management.
Applicationof clinical governance to ultrasound technique and practice to include regulardevelopment and improvement of both application and service through evidencebased practice.
To safelyand effectively operate ultrasound equipment.
Maintainhigh standards whilst working under pressure.
Participatein audit, quality improvement and continuing professional development.
To dealeffectively with unpredictable patient demands and to maintain the high levelof concentration required for performing and reporting ultrasound procedures.
Toperform regular quality assurance checks on equipment and troubleshootpotential equipment problems.
Documentequipment malfunctions and report to the Ultrasound Manager.
Toregularly carry out clinical audit and participate in clinical trials, researchand development.

We have a centre for planned care in Bishop Auckland and provide care from community hospitals in Chester-le-Street, Shotley Bridge, Barnard Castle, Sedgefield and Weardale as well as over 80 other community based settings and providing care in patients' homes.

Job description
Job responsibilities
The post holderwill be one of a team of sonographers accountable for the delivery of a highquality ultrasound service
Toprovide high standards of patient care in a safe, clean and tidy workingenvironment, observing all Trust and departmental policies and to maintainprofessional and personal standards.Also required to deal with difficult and potentially aggressive patientsand their relatives. To effectivelymanage unpredictable patient demands.
Toprovide a full ultrasound scanning and reporting service for in patients, outpatients and GP referrals, identifying pathologies and reporting diagnoses and / or suggesting other imaging as required.
Tosupervise Radiographer assistants in their activities within the Ultrasoundsuite.
Tocontribute to the ultrasound training of others including radiographers,radiology registrars and various other doctors as required.
