What are the responsibilities and job description for the Utility Maintenance Worker position at County of Anson?
Description
Performs maintenance on the water system of Anson County. Responsible for reading and recording meters, repairing leaks, flushing lines, and installing and repairing pipes. Rotating on call duty will be mandatory. Subject to working with construction equipment, inside and outside environments, in extreme hot and cold weather, and exposure to hazards such as gases, moving mechanical parts, and raw sewage.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to physically perform the basic life operational functions of climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pulling, pushing, lifting, grasping, talking and repetitive motions. Must be able to perform heavy work exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Must possess the visual acuity to perform mechanical or other trades' tasks to perform visual inspections of small parts and machine operation, to use measurement devices, to determine the accuracy and completeness of work, to operate equipment and to keep records of activities.
