Job Description:
This employment opportunity is to serve as the SQL Programmer (Principal Data Processing Systems Programmer). Candidate must be proficient in developing and maintaining SQL databases, programming in MS Access, and developing web-based applications, preferably using PHP language and JavaScript for the front end and SQL Server as the back end. Under direction, controls and maintains the highly technical computer operating systems associated with computers and directs the operations, systems, and programming function toward optimum utilization of available hardware and software; does other related duties as required.
Job Responsibilities:
- Manage databases to allow secure and easy access to stored databases for authorized users.
- Oversee the creation of improved structure and design of these databases, customizing them to meet specific needs of users.
- Coordinate and develop working relationships with IT users to support and develop in-house application in a cross-functional environment.
- Backup SQL Server databases.
- Database design and management.
- Development of VB applications with MS Access as the front end and SQL Server as the back end.
- Develop MS Access applications including data modeling, and creation of tables, queries, forms, reports, and macros.
- Directs the maintenance of records and files.
- Will be required to learn to utilize various types of electronic and/or manual recording and information systems used by the agency, office, or related units.
Schedule: Full time (40 hours/week).
Education Requirements: Possession of a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science or equivalent.
Other Requirements:
· Minimum of five years’ experience as a SQL Server Developer, SQL Database Programmer and MS Access programmer
· Experience in creating stored procedures, functions, views, and SSIS packages.
· Experience with scripting languages such as PHP.
· Experience with JavaScript (knowledge and understanding). Needs to be able to collaborate with back-end web developers.
· Basic understanding of front-end languages like HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
· Proficiency in SQL Queries. Experience in writing complex queries.
· Familiar with the development of web-based applications with PHP and JavaScript as the preferred languages for the front end and SQL Server as the back end.
· Advanced proficiency in MS Access (MS Access 2010 - Office 365).
· Advanced knowledge of MS Access VBA programming.
· Valid New Jersey Driver’s License.
