BASIC FUNCTIONS:
- Under the direction of the Maintenance, Engineering or Traffic Services department, provide roadway maintenance or Transportation Department support duties as required, and other related job duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Perform bituminous road surface maintenance.
- Perform roadside vegetation maintenance.
- Perform drainage maintenance.
- Perform traffic control for maintenance activities.
- Serve as ticket taker for road construction projects. Ex. Bituminous paving or aggregate shouldering.
- Performs other related job duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
- High school graduate or high school senior with expectations of graduating by June 2024 or equivalent.
Certificates/Licenses Required:
- Valid drivers license.
Note:
- Must successfully pass medical, physical and drug screening.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Required at Entry:
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Ability to follow instructions.
- Ability to operate a computer and iPad.
- Ability to use a calculator and perform basic math.
- Ability to drive a pickup truck.
- Ability to lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds on a daily basis.
