What's this Job All About?

Under the direction of a Clinical Supervisor and/or Program Manager, you will provide outpatient mental health and substance use disorder treatment for Colusa County Medi-Cal beneficiaries. This position will focus primarily on our criminal justice population. You will assess mental illness and evaluate substance use disorders using the most current American Society of Addiction Medicine criteria. Additionally, you will develop treatment plans and facilitate access to appropriate levels of care, including psychiatric hospitalization, sober living environments, or residential treatment facilities when necessary.

Therapist I:

Under the direction of the Behavioral Health or Health and Human Services Director or designee, reports to and receives direction from the Clinical Program Manager or Program Manager and may receive technical and functional supervision from the Therapist III.     


Therapist II:

Under the direction of the Behavioral Health or Health and Human Services Director or designee, reports to and receives direction from the Clinical Program Manager or Program Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS: Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying.  A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:

OPTION 1:

Experience: 
None. 

Training:

Students enrolled in a Master’s degree program in psychology, social work, marriage and family counseling, or a related field, as well as non-licensed Ph.D. or PsyD. students who are entering a field practicum, qualify. Students must be enrolled in an accredited college or university.


Licensing or Certifications:
Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate valid California driver's license.

OPTION 2 (Preferred):

Experience:
Required practicum experience in a Master’s program.


Training:
A Master’s degree in psychology, social work, marriage and family counseling, or a related field from an accredited college or university which provides the educational basis for licensing to provide psychotherapy in the State of California.

Licensing or Certifications: 

Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate valid California driver's license.


Possession of or applied for registration as a Marriage and Family Therapist Intern or an Associate of Clinical Social Work with the Board of Behavioral Sciences.

Therapist II

Experience: 
Two (2) years of post-graduate of increasingly responsible related experience.


Training: 
A Master’s degree in psychology, social work, marriage and family counseling, or a related field from an accredited college or university which provides the educational basis for licensing to provide psychotherapy in the State of California.


Licensing and Certifications: 

Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate valid California driver's license.  

 Current registration as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist or Licensed Clinical Social Worker with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences.

Salary based on a 37.5-hour work week.

Therapist I: $ 4,961-$8,135

Therapist II: $5,477 - $8,981


The salary range above consists of 15 steps. Steps 1-6 are annual merit steps with approximately 5% difference between each step, based on successful performance. Steps 7-15 are additional merit steps, requiring 2 years of satisfactory performance at the previous step. Steps 7-14 provide 2.5% increases, while Step 15 offers a 5% increase. The final salary offered will depend on the applicant's experience and qualifications, ranging from steps 1 to 15.

Salary : $59,532 - $107,772
