Job Title: Physical Therapist
The County of El Dorado is seeking a Physical Therapist to join their team in the Health and Human Services Agency.
About the Role
The Physical Therapist will have the opportunity to plan, perform, and direct physical therapy for handicapped persons, primarily children. They will participate as a team member with physicians, parents, and others in furthering the child's neuro-muscular development. The role involves organizing and participating in children's clinics, providing gait training to children, including helping them with the use of assisting devices such as walkers and crutches, and determining the need for and fit of adaptive equipment such as standers, walkers, wheelchairs, and other mobility and positioning devices.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Plan, perform, and direct physical therapy for handicapped persons, primarily children
- Participate as a team member with physicians, parents, and others in furthering the child's neuro-muscular development
- Organize and participate in children's clinics
- Provide gait training to children, including helping them with the use of assisting devices such as walkers and crutches
- Determine the need for and fit of adaptive equipment such as standers, walkers, wheelchairs, and other mobility and positioning devices
Requirements
- Must possess or be able to obtain registration as a physical therapist issued by the State of California
- Knowledge of principles, practices, and methods of physical therapy
- Objectives of physical therapy treatment
- Kinesiology and modalities of treatment
- Construction, use, and care of orthopedic appliances and equipment
