SEEKING SEASONAL BUILDING EMPLOYEE FOR SUMMER 2025
Goodhue County is seeking applications from students enrolled in a post-secondary school that are looking for a 32 to 40 hours/week seasonal job working closely with the Building Division of the Land Use Management Department of Goodhue County. Seasonal employees will be working from mid-May or early June through mid to late August, or when you are required to report to class, whichever comes first. A typical schedule would be Mondays through Fridays 8am to 3pm.
Duties: Building Permit and Land Use Record Digital Conversion
Individual will be responsible for assisting the County’s Building Division during the peak construction season in Minnesota. Primary duties include scanning paper building permit files and saving them as permanent records accessible in the County’s digital file storage system.
Primary Duties:
- Data Entry
- Organizing and sorting records
- Clerical work focused on creating digital records (scanning)
- Scan County and City building permits scanning from the 1980’s to 2000’s
- Provide support and back up to permit intake, questions, phones calls and emails.
- Assist with mailings and meeting packet preparation
Work Environment:
- Office workspace with minimal interactions with the public
- Will be using a scanner and laptop
- Will not use County vehicles or operate heavy equipment

- Proficiency in the use of computer equipment and software
- Detail orientated
- Self-motivated
- Independent worker
