What are the responsibilities and job description for the ADMINISTRATIVE SPECIALIST II-TEMP position at County of Greenville?
Under general supervision, performs a variety of clinic based secretarial and clerical duties for the Health Services Division of the Greenville County Department of Public Safety at the Greenville County Detention Center. Responsible to prepare patient schedules to include pertinent treatment information for the Advance Care Practitioners as well as arrange for patients to be brought from housing units to the medical clinic for psychiatric and medical evaluation and/or scheduling outside appointments with patient service providers. May, on occasion, assist Advanced Care Practitioners with in-house x-ray, dental, laboratory and other services or arrange for outside specialty care, hospital admissions or laboratory services. Prepares and sends medical records and continuity of care forms; also prepares and receives incoming and outgoing medical records. High school graduate and considerable experience in medical administration, secretarial, or clerical field. An associate's degree in medical administration, medical assisting, secretarial science or related field with some experience in the medical administration field is preferred; or any equivalent combination of education and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Typing is required at a corrected rate of thirty-five words per minute. Additional consideration will be given to those who possess certification as: RMA-Registered Medical Assistant; CMA-Certified Medical Assistant and/or knowledge of electronic medical record systems; demonstrated ability to work in a team environment. Ability to perform various simple medical tasks and knowledge of medical terminology. Preference will be given to those applicants who are bilingual, have experience in corrections, or who have worked in a clinical setting.
