What are the responsibilities and job description for the DEPUTY DIVISION DIRECTOR-PROBATE COURT position at County of Greenville?
Plans, coordinates, assigns and reviews work of individuals and the team; evaluates training needs and provides instruction; interviews candidates; conducts employee performance evaluations; and establishes and promotes employee morale. Prioritizes and schedules work activities in order to meet objectives; ensures subordinates have proper resources needed to complete assigned work; monitors status of work in progress and/or inspects completed work; assists assigned staff with complex or problem situations and provides technical expertise; trains and instructs employees regarding legal and ethical operational procedures; and conducts weekly staff meetings to communicate changes to processes and procedures, and to address concerns and complaints. Oversees the accurate administration of Probate Court case files; implements and evaluates office procedures to improve operations; assigns incoming cases to Judicial Assistants to ensure quality outcomes; performs random audits of Accounting, Inventories, court fee calculations, payment of properly filed creditor claims, and/or other case related items; addresses employee delinquencies; supervises crisis cases requiring advanced knowledge of probate processes, ethics or advanced interpersonal skills; coordinates court hearings; arranges for court interpreters in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act as needed; and ensures statutorily imposed deadlines for timely case administration. Interacts with individuals by phone, email, and office visits; fields walk-in traffic and directs visitors to appropriate individual or division; provides information regarding probate law and processes; receives, reviews, verifies, and processes court forms, documents and correspondence; and communicates with Judges, personal representatives, guardians, conservators, beneficiaries, bonding companies, fiduciaries, attorneys, paralegals, banks, other individuals as needed to coordinate work activities, review status of work, exchange information, or resolve problems. Maintains current, comprehensive knowledge and awareness of applicable laws, regulations, principles and practices relating to Probate Court operations; maintains required certifications; maintains an awareness of new trends and advances in the profession; and attends continuing educations workshops, training sessions, and meetings as needed. Performs other related duties as required and assigned. Bachelor's degree in business or public administration, accounting, or a related field required; supplemented by one year of Legal or Probate related experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. Must possess and maintain a valid South Carolina Driver's License. Must possess and maintain certification as a Notary Public.
