What are the responsibilities and job description for the PROGRAM RECREATION ASSISTANT - PART TIME - PLEASANT RIDGE CAMP AND RETREAT CENTER position at County of Greenville?
Greenville County Rec is seeking a friendly, caring and dedicated professional to assist in implementing recreation programs, summer camps and related programs and special events at Pleasant Ridge Camp and Retreat Center; and to perform related administrative work as required. This class works within a general outline of work to be performed and develops work methods and sequences under general supervision.

Essential Tasks Include
- Assists in implementing the activities of the Recreation Division, ensuring compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations, County and GCPRT policies and procedures, and standards of safety.
- Assists in supervising the work of part-time staff and volunteers.
- Assists in implementing programs and events, including but not limited to camps, special events, therapeutics and outdoor recreation.
- Assists in processing program registrations and fees; ensures the proper maintenance of participant records.
- Drives 15 passenger minibus/van. Takes appropriate steps to ensure the safety of all staff and program participants.
- Assists in procuring necessary supplies and materials.
- Assists in preparing records and reports concerning division activities and operations.
- Assists in coordinating assigned activities and functions with those of other divisions, departments, municipalities and outside agencies as appropriate.
- Receives and responds to inquiries, concerns, complaints and requests for assistance regarding areas of responsibility.
- Performs janitorial work and other housekeeping related task.
- Sets up for and cleans up after programs and events.
- Performs general administrative / clerical work as required, including preparing reports and correspondence, entering and retrieving computer data, copying and filing documents, attending meetings, answering the telephone, etc.
- Attends meetings, workshops, conferences, training, etc., as appropriate to enhance job knowledge and skills.
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires High School Diploma or GED.
- Must possess a valid state driver’s license.
- Required Certifications: CPR/AED and First Aid certification May be obtained post hiring.
