Basic Function and Distinguishing Characteristics
BASIC FUNCTION :
Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, perform responsible analytical administrative tasks in support of an assigned division or small department; prepare reports, perform research studies, prepare grant applications, compile, analyze, interpret, and report data, and provide analysis and recommendations regarding a variety of administrative matters.
DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS :
Administrative Analyst I incumbents perform assignments primarily at the division level of a major department or at the department level of a small department. Administrative Analyst II incumbents are assigned to large departments and perform more complex assignments with direct Department-wide impact. Administrative Analyst III incumbents are assigned the most complex projects which may include substantial County-wide impact.
Education and Experience / Licenses and Other Requirements
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE :
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Business or Public Administration, Finance, Accounting, Business Management, International Business, Information Systems, Communications, Communication Design, Marketing, Economics, Economic Development, Political Science, English, Psychology, Social Science, Sociology, Behavioral Science, or Criminal Justice.
Associate's degree from an accredited college or university in Business or Public Administration, Finance, Accounting, Business Management, International Business, Information Systems, Communications, Communication Design, Marketing, Economics, Economic Development, Political Science, English, Psychology, Social Science, Sociology, Behavioral Science, or Criminal Justice and two (2) years of experience performing professional research and analytical work in the private or public sector. OR
Four (4) years of experience performing professional research and analytical work in the private or public sector.
LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS :
Valid California Driver's License.
Supplemental Information
A valid driver's license may be required at the time of appointment and employees may also be required to drive their own vehicle and provide proof of liability insurance as per Vehicle Code VC § 160020.
