Basic Function and Distinguishing Characteristics
Under the direction of the Assistant Auditor-Controller, plan, organize, and direct the independent financial and operational audits of departments, offices, boards, and institutions under the authority of the Board of Supervisors; administer the County's payroll system and the department's financial and scanning systems.
This is a single position classification characterized by responsibility to manage the Audits and Systems Division of the Auditor-Controller Department. The class is distinguished by its responsibility to manage a variety of department activities and services using the application of professional accounting policies, procedures, and regulations.
Education and Experience / Licenses and Other Requirements
A Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance, or business administration and three years of professional accounting experience, preferably governmental accounting.
Valid California Driver's License

A valid driver's license may be required at the time of appointment and employees may also be required to drive their own vehicle and provide proof of liability insurance as per Vehicle Code VC § 160020. This position may require pre-employment drug test, physical examination, and fingerprinting for a background investigation.
