GOLF ASSISTANT MANAGER – FOOD AND BEVERAGE
SEASONAL LONG TERM
The Kenosha County Division of Golf is looking for a seasonal Assistant Manager – Food and Beverage, to work at Brighton Dale Links. This position reports to the seasonal Food and Beverage Manager and is second in command in the food and beverage operation. Responsibilities include leadership and administration of seasonal Food and Beverage Attendants, as well as assisting with stocking and ordering supplies, maintaining a safe work environment, and ensuring compliance with Wisconsin health regulations.

2025 Pay Range: $16.00 - $24.00 per hour
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Monitor the production of food by staff and workers
Provide expertise on menu items, offerings, portions, specials, and procurement of ingredients
Help coordinate menus for special events (outings) with Golf Division staff to ensure food costs and gratuity are properly accounted for
Assist with maintaining required staffing levels in a fiscally responsible manner and maintaining work schedules
Maintain all records of input costs and provide analysis as requested
Be alert on opportunity purchases for cost savings
Keep track of menu planning and ensure all required ingredients are in facility ready for production
Keep maintenance of equipment and facility and repair if necessary; maintain a weekly inspection of facilities
Keep quarterly inventory of the food on hand and complete monthly records of the food production
Assist with staff recruitment, training, and supervision as needed
Handle cash and credit card transactions per Golf Division cash policy; ensure cash drawers are balanced nightly and deposits prepared accordingly
Perform other work as required or assigned
JOB REQUIREMENTS, EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
Must be at least 18 years old at time of application
High school diploma or GED equivalent
Associate degree in Food Service Management preferred, or equivalent experience in the food service industry
Three years of experience in managing a restaurant or an institutional kitchen
OTHER JOB REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to arrive to work to either Kenosha County golf facilities as scheduled and can vary on work assignment
Must be available to work scheduled holidays and weekends
Must be able to work overtime when needed, with or without advance notice
LICENSES OR CERTIFICATIONS
Must possess a valid driver’s license at time of hire and maintain during incumbency, with acceptable driving record
ServSafe Certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment
SUCCESS FACTORS
Knowledge of policies, procedures, and the equipment in the golf facilities
Knowledge of basic math associated with currency exchange
Knowledge of the commodity markets to help plan the procurement of commodities
Knowledge of Wisconsin Food Code and nutritional standards
Knowledge of Wisconsin DOC Administrative Code 350
Skill in time management
Skill in communicating effectively with guests and co-workers
Skill in verbal communication for clear directions to staff
Skill in basic accounting principles
Skill in basic usage of Microsoft Office
Ability to work and learn scheduling software
Ability to maintain a good working relationship with the Golf Division staff
Ability to monitor the staff and keep accurate records
Ability to remain professional and courteous at all times
Ability to conform to shifting priorities in organization requirements, product demands, and purchasing timelines through analytical capabilities

The position involves heavy physical demands, such as lifting floor to waist and carrying up to 60 pounds (bulk product –salt, flour, meat, etc.); shoulder level lifting at 50 pounds; carrying, pushing/pulling up to 50 pounds for 25 feet (crates of milk)
Some local travel may be required for the purpose of meeting with vendors, suppliers, service providers, offsite contractors, or as needed between County facilities

Seasonal employees are automatically enrolled in this program if they do not meet eligibility criteria for the Wisconsin Retirement System (pension).
