GOLF SHOP CLERK, GOLF
The Kenosha County Division of Golf is accepting applications for seasonal Golf Shop Clerks to work at our two golf courses, Brighton Dale Links and Petrifying Springs. We are looking for energetic, enthusiastic, and hardworking individuals to assist in the day-to-day operations of the facilities. Candidates must be passionate about providing exceptional customer service to help provide world class playing, dining, and shopping experiences for our guests.

2025 Pay Range: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
WORK SCHEDULE
Seasonal employees generally work from March through October
Start dates will vary depending on weather and golf course conditions
Golf clubhouse hours of operation are typically dawn to dusk (5:30 AM to 9:00 PM depending on the season)
Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Answers phones and schedules tee times
Operates cash register and tee sheet system
Assists in receiving, stocking, and selling merchandise
Answers guests’ questions regarding golf events, coupons, and other specials
Monitors and reports guests' pace of play
Assists with golf outings
Performs golf club repairs and spike changes
Opens and closes golf shop
Supervises and assists outside service and player support staff
Performs other duties as required or assigned
JOB REQUIREMENTS, EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
Must be at least 18 years old at time of application
High school diploma or GED equivalent
Retail experience preferred but not required
Must possess a valid driver’s license at time of hire and maintain during incumbency, with acceptable driving record
SUCCESS FACTORS
Knowledge of the game of golf, golf equipment, and the desire to work in the golf industry
Knowledge of basic math associated with currency exchange
Skill in communicating effectively with guests and co-workers
Skill in basic usage of Microsoft Office
Ability to follow written and/or verbal instructions
Ability to observe and recognize safety precautions
Ability to perform a variety of clubhouse related tasks
Ability to operate cash register and handle money with accuracy
Ability to work independently and under pressure
Ability to work respectfully in a diverse and inclusive environment

Seasonal employees are automatically enrolled in this program if they do not meet eligibility criteria for the Wisconsin Retirement System (pension). The FICA Alternative plan replaces the payment of FICA tax and instead contributes a percentage of pre-tax wages into an investment account for the benefit of the employee.
