The successful candidate will have responsibility for completion of a wide variety of duties in the Retirement Services area of the Kent County Human Resources Department. This is a professional, fast paced, customer service driven environment. Acting as a resource to active employees and retirees is a major focus of this position.
The Human Resources Technician duties are primarily clerical in nature. Duties include monthly mailings, uploading reports from various client portals, running Excel reports from an Access database, distributing forms to active employees and retirees. They will also be responsible for handling email communications and correspondence related to a 457b plan and plan enrollment mailings. Paying invoices and coordinating statements for reconciliation by Fiscal Services staff, handling basic customer service calls and electronic records filing required. Conduct thorough and accurate internet research, ensuring the responsible use of AI technologies to support organizational goals. Will complete various other assignments as needed.
The ability to prioritize duties and attention to detail are essential for the success of the individual and Retirement Services.
This is a part time, 28-hour/week position with Mondays being a requirement - the rest of the schedule will be discussed based on the needs of the individual and the department. A hybrid schedule may be considered post satisfactory training.
Minimum Qualifications
Must be self-driven, organized, detail-oriented and proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with varied populations are essential.
Equivalent combination of education and work experience maybe considered.

Vacation Leave

Paid Time Off
Full Time: Pro-rated amount of 80 hours based on number remaining months in the year at time of hire.

Unused paid time off will be transferred to the employee's reserve sick leave bank up to 182 hours immediately prior to the issuance of the annual paid time off credit. Hours in excess of 182 hours will be placed in employee’s retirement bonus bank.
Paid Parental Leave
80 hours of paid time off for birth of a child or temporary placement of the child for adoption. Eligible the 1st of the month following date of hire, runs concurrently with FMLA

Shift Premium
Non-exempt employees are eligible for a shift premium of $0.50/hour for regularly scheduled second and third shifts that begin after 2:00 p.m., or for holiday or weekend work.
Overtime
Non-exempt employees are eligible for overtime at a rate of time and one half (1½) their normal hourly rate for hours worked in excess of 40 hours per week.
Tuition Reimbursement
$365 per credit hour; maximum of 9 credit hours per year (see policy for eligibility)
